Recommendations for the application
In the event of a sudden need for care in the family, to relieve a carer or if the care situation needs to be (re)organised, care leave or part-time care leave can be agreed with the employer for a period of 1 to 3 months. Based on the agreement of care leave, part-time care leave or family end-of-life care leave/part-time family end-of-life care leave with the employer, there is a legal entitlement to care leave allowance under certain conditions.
Allowances for substitute care
If family carers are unable to provide care for important reasons (illness, holiday or other important reasons), they can apply for an allowance from the support fund to finance professional and/or private substitute care. For people in need of care from care level 3, in the case of dementia and for minors from care level 1.
