The childcare programmes ‘Kids' Fun on Campus’ and ‘Holiday Fun on Campus’ are designed to support parents balance work and family life.
Unlike programmes that focus on specific areas such as sport or art, our childcare programme is tailored to the children’s needs and offers fun, relaxing and creative activities both on the premises and on outings around the University of Graz campus. The programme is tailored to the size of the group, the children’s ages and the weather.
This childcare is NOT provided as an inclusive service.
If your child has a teaching assistance at school, it will also be required for the ‘Kids' Fun’ as well as the ‘Holiday Fun’ programme.
Parents are responsible for organising and funding assistance services (IZB).
The Family Service offers you peace of mind regarding childcare during school holiday weeks from the start of the school year.
If you do not require childcare during certain weeks, you can cancel easily.
For members of the University of Graz, the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, JOANNEUM RESEARCH and FH JOANNEUM, registrations are possible from the start of the school year at a reduced rate, with no registration deadline.
Last-minute registrations are possible – subject to the quality of care.
Specific deadlines and payment terms are set to ensure that childcare services can be organised in a timely and well-prepared manner. Therefore, a refund of the parental contribution is no longer possible after the specified deadlines.
Once you have registered your details correctly in the needs assessment, you can be assured of a place in the childcare programme, and we will contact you at the appropriate time.
PLEASE NOTE: Children (without an assistance person) who repeatedly disobey the instructions of the childcare staff, or who significantly disrupt or endanger the running of the programme or other children, will be excluded from the childcare programme.

If you are a lecturer only, please contact us before registering to avoid any misunderstandings.
Please contact us regarding childcare options for younger or older children, or even children from outside the university (only close friends; places subject to availability).
(Pre-)Registration for “Kids’ Fun on Campus”
The pre-registration is open throughout the entire school year.
Please read the general information provided above, and if you agree, you can pre-register your child for the desired weeks using this link.
Your childcare spots are reserved based on your pre-registration, and you can count on childcare being available during those weeks.
We will close the registration process 4 weeks before childcare begins, and you will receive a form to confirm your registration.
You may cancel your pre-registration free of charge up to 3 weeks before childcare begins.
Payment is not due until you receive a request from us via email.
In your own interest, please ensure that you can access your email address and also check your spam folder.
If no children are registered by 3 weeks before the start date, childcare will not be provided. If the “Kids’ Fun on Campus” program is confirmed, late registrations may be accepted on a space-available basis. Please send us an email regarding this.
The summer holiday programme Holiday Fun on Campus is open to members of the University of Graz, the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, Joanneum Research and FH Joanneum.
When? all 9 weeks during the school summer holidays from 12th July to 10th September 2027; bookable on a weekly basis, Monday to Friday from 7.45 am to 4.15 pm
Where? Around the Campus of the University of Graz, up to the USZ Rosenhain and other destinations, playgrounds and adventures
For whom? Children aged 6 to 10 (primary school)
Costs? To be announced by January 2027
